Pollinator-Friendly Garden Design, Chiswick

Featured in British Vogue and House & Garden

A relaxed garden for a home in Chiswick, West London which truly celebrates plants and encourages wildlife to thrive.

The planting scheme was conceived with pollinators in mind, favouring airy umbellifers such as Valeriana officinalis and Angelica archangelica and herbaceous perennials such as Mathiasella bupleuroides that support bees and butterflies across the seasons. A seating area surrounded by shrub roses allows one to appreciate their scent during flowering season and a fan-trained fig grows against the boundary wall.

Hard landscaping was kept simple; curved gravel paths edged with porphyry setts give structure to an otherwise loose and naturalistic border style.
